THE BOY

by Daniel Kennedy

This play was performed by Daniel Kennedy and Brett Sullivan Santry at the Walking Fish Theater for the 2011 Philly Fringe Festival. Directed by Benjamin Curns.

Lefty activist Sonny Blake wanted to change the world but no one would listen. No one would pay any attention.

But they will this time. This time, Sonny has a plan.

This time, Sonny has holed himself into the small confines of a McDonald's bathroom along with his cell phone, a box cutter, a loaded pistol and an eight-year-old hostage he calls simply, "The Boy".

Now people are paying attention, especially veteran hostage negotiator, Bob, who will fight to save the lives of both Sonny and "The Boy".

Australian writer and actor Daniel Kennedy writes and stars in this dark exploration of our collective desire to do something worthwhile and to learn from our mistakes.
