Daniel Kennedy - BioUpon receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts from the University of Western Sydney, Nepean, Daniel joined the award winning street Theatre Company, Chrome, and began his education. Daniel spent the next 8 years writing a-capella songs and touring extensively throughout Australia, Europe and Asia, performing at International Theatre Festivals. From 1997-98 Daniel toured schools with Brainstorm Productions, educating children in issues such as schoolyard bullying and teen suicide. In 99, Daniel moved to The Netherlands to focus on love and Martial Arts. During this time he performed with the Dutch Company, Living Sculptures. In 2000 Daniel took his battered body and broken heart to Moscow, where he did a 6 week intensive course in Clown at the State School of Variety Arts. Upon returning to Australia, Daniel was cast as Touchstone in Fly on the Wall Theatre Co production of As You Like It, Candor in Ionesco’s Macbett, with Exposure productions, and helped write and directed Ricochet working productions, production of R Rated for the Big Laugh Festival. 2003 saw Daniel playing Brutus in Fly on the Wall Theatre Co Production of Julius Caesar. In 2004, Daniel appeared in AFI award winning series "Double the Fist" on ABC TV in Australia. Double the Fist took out the Australian Film Industry Award for " Best Television Comedy- Sit-com or Sketch" in 2004. After arriving in The United States in February 2004, Daniel played William Shakepeare in The Dark Lady of the Sonnets at Smith College, Polonius in Hampshire Shakespeare Co production of Hamlet, and Steve in Israel Horowitz’s Line at the Fine Arts Centre, UMASS. In 2005, Daniel has played Doc in The Ride at The Majestic Theatre in West Springfield, Cassius in Hampshire Shakespeare Co's production of Julius Caesar, and The Sheriff of Nottingham with Paintbox Theatre in Northampton, MA. He also took part in filming a documentary about the Mayflower with Lone Wolf Documentary Group, in Plymouth MA, which was aired on the History channel for Thanksgiving 2006. In 2006, Daniel played Macbeth with the Hampshire Shakespeare Co, Grandma in Red Riding Hood and the Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk with Paintbox Theatre, and Touchstone in Queens Shakespeare Co's production of As You Like It. From 2004-2007 Daniel taught and directed theater at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School, South Hadley, MA. Directing credits include Threepenny Opera, Baby with the Bathwater, Archangels Don't Play Pinball, As You Like It, as well as Sam and the Tigers and Tom and the Captain in collaboration with the Eric Carle Museum of Picturebook Art. Since June 2007, Daniel has been working with The American Shakespeare Center and has performed in sixteen plays by Shakespeare and his contemporaries. He has been part of the Piercing Eloquence tour (2007-2008), the Stark Raving Sane tour (2008-2009), the 2010 Actors Rennaissance Season and the 2010 Summer Fall Season at the ASC's Blackfriar's Theater (the world's only recreation | ||
